Two of the Richest Men Who Ever Lived Had Almost No Wealth Stars

Aristotle Onassis, the Greek shipowner the press called the richest man of the 1960s: 乙巳 己丑 己未 庚午. Li Ka-shing, for decades the richest man in Asia: 戊辰 己未 庚午 丁亥. Both charts come from 段建业's published teaching notes, and both carry the same heavy verdict: a chart of enormous wealth.
Now do the thing a textbook would do: count the wealth stars. Onassis — 己 earth day master, so wealth is water. Not a single water stem in the sky; the only water in the whole chart is the drop of 癸 hidden inside 丑. Li Ka-shing — 庚 metal day master, so wealth is wood. Stems are 戊, 己, 丁: again, not one wealth star exposed.
The textbook says you need "abundant wealth and a strong self" to get rich. Two of the richest men on record show not a single exposed wealth star between them. The problem is not with them. The problem is that the textbook counts inventory, and the blind school reads action.
What Li Ka-shing's chart is doing: one force, one target
Lay the chart out and watch the movement. 戊辰 己未 庚午 丁亥: 丁 fire, 午 fire, 戊 earth, 未 earth — fire and dry earth mass into a single force across stems and branches. Where is it headed? The 亥 water at the hour pillar.
What sits inside 亥? 壬 water and 甲 wood. To a 庚 metal day master, 甲 wood is wealth and 壬 water is the Eating God that feeds it — 亥 is a package of wealth plus the source of wealth. The whole force of officer and seal (fire is his officer, earth his seal) closes in and clears it, completely. The note's entire conclusion is one line: therefore, a super-rich chart.
This is where the blind school and the textbook part ways: what gets taken down is what gets gained. The purer the force and the cleaner the removal, the greater the gain. A wealth star lying in the chart untouched is inventory. A force that finishes off its wealth target is a business.
午 combines 亥: how he actually makes money
The manner of the work matters too. He does not crush — he combines. 午 and 亥 combine. Inside 午 is 丁, his Direct Officer; inside 亥 is 壬, his Eating God; officer and output work together. The note: hence diversified operations and capital management.
What is combination? Combination is a deal — absorbing you into me. Pressing destroys; combining acquires. His career is that posture in flesh: ports, retail, energy, telecom — not crushing competitors, but buying them. The verb of the work is the posture of the businessman.
The wealth vault: which way the door opens
One more detail deserves its own section: 辰. The year branch 辰 is the water vault — the tomb-storehouse of 亥 water. The note is careful about direction: water flows from year toward hour, so a vault at the year is "drawn out" — the gate sits at the source, a steady flow for sixty years. Flip the positions and the vault at the hour becomes "sealed in" — the money ends up locked in the safe: you can see the vault but never the cash.
The note adds: 未 enters the tomb of 辰, and 辰 becomes very large — a very large wealth vault. The blind school reads all four of 辰戌丑未 as vaults: warehouses, treasuries, safes. A vault only pays when it opens, and clash and punishment are the keys. His 辰 stands unopposed, its gate facing the flow of the water: a wealth vault that has not closed for sixty years.

Onassis: the same answer, written in a different verb
Now the shipowner. 乙巳 己丑 己未 庚午 — 己 earth day master, wealth again water, again not one wealth stem in sight. The pivot of his chart is the 丑未 clash: 未 is the wood vault (to 己 earth, wood is the killer — a killer vault); 丑 is the metal vault (metal is his output — an Eating God vault). The two vaults clash, and the wood-fire-earth inside 未 takes down the metal-water inside 丑 — once again, wealth and its source are cleared out by a massed force.
Two richest men, two eras, two verbs of work: Li combines — slow, long-line, patient. Onassis clashes — all-in, repeatedly. His life was a sequence of outrageous bets: bottoms-upping a shipping fleet in the Depression, marrying the widow of a president in 1968. The verb of the work is the verb of the fate.
The scorecard: two hits out of three
The notes also issued predictions on Li Ka-shing's luck cycles. We ran them against the record. Prediction one: the 戌 cycle is where the fortune begins. In 1958 he bought his first industrial building and entered real estate — square inside the 壬戌 cycle. Hit. Prediction two: the 丑 cycle pierces 午, not good — the master's dry remark: probably nothing worse than the wife dying. His wife 庄月明 died at the turn of 1990 — inside the 乙丑 cycle. Hit.
Prediction three: in the 辰 cycle 亥 enters the tomb — output entering the tomb, the lifespan cannot escape. By the standard reckoning from his public birth data, the 戊辰 cycle runs roughly 2011 to 2021. It is 2026 as this is written; he is alive, approaching a hundred. Miss — so far.
Two out of three, on the master's own hand-picked showcase chart. Luck-cycle boundaries carry a year or two of uncertainty, but the window for prediction three has closed. Quoting this as proof that bazi is magic, or as proof that it is superstition, is equally premature. It is something in between: a craft that has not finished auditing itself.
We ran the numbers again: the one survivor, and how it shattered
Teaching notes cherry-pick; data does not. We digitized the entire corpus: 97 source files, 4,557 raw extractions, 1,285 unique charts after four-layer validation. Then we ran 97 structural features against outcome labels — 1,533 statistical tests — and after multiple-comparison correction exactly one signal survived: wealth star in the tomb, against acquiring wealth. 22% against a 13% baseline, z = 3.80.
It looked like the data vouching for the vault theory. Then we did something unfestive: we redefined "wealth vault" in a second, equally reasonable way — any tomb branch whose hidden stems include a wealth star — and ran it again. The signal collapsed to z = 0.90. Gone.
The honest conclusion: the vault theory is neither proven nor disproven. It is an intuition the data cannot yet hold. Until better evidence arrives, do not make life decisions because "I have a wealth vault" — and do not despair because you think you lack one.
Read your own wealth structure: five steps
The method is learnable. One: count your wealth stars — as a starting point only. Plenty or few proves nothing; the two charts above are the proof. Two: look for the force. Which element gangs up three or four deep across stems and branches? That is a force.
Three: find the work. What is the force taking down? If the target is wealth or wealth's source, and the removal is clean, the wealth channel is open. Four: check the vaults. Does your wealth hide inside 辰戌丑未? Is there a key — a clash or punishment — in the chart, or arriving by luck cycle?
Five — the only step that can actually answer anything: read the past ten years backwards. The years money came in, the years it leaked, the year you bought property, the year the market trapped you — tick them off against the luck pillars, year by year. Three years of alignment before this structure has earned a word about your future. Read backwards first, then forwards.
